Nestled in Portugal’s southernmost tip, the Algarve is all quaint fishing towns, picturesque sandy coves and endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Combined with a heavenly all-year-round climate, the Algarve is a wonderful winter sun destination.
Make time to wander through its plentiful whitewashed villages with pretty churches before relaxing with a just-caught seafood lunch. Explore the Seven Hanging Valleys trail along the clifftops for majestic coastline views. Tee off at one of the Algarve’s 30-plus golf courses.
However you choose to spend time in this corner of Portugal, our inviting array of Algarve package holidays will allow you to soak up its highlights.
We are sure you have already heard about it. Perhaps a friend told you about its magnificent beaches.
Maybe you saw a report about its typically Mediterranean cuisine. Or it could be that you simply came across a text like this one, which highlights the history, culture and friendliness of those who are used to giving visitors the warmest of welcomes.
But there is an Algarve that you haven’t discovered yet: the Algarve of the people who live here.
- Nice weather during the year
- Lovely beaches

The Algarve has one of the best climates in Europe, all year round. With little rainfall, generally occurring between the months of November and March, and plenty of sunshine, the Algarve offers outstanding weather conditions for year-round tourism.
There’s one airport in the Algarve, Faro Airport, and two alternative airports within 200 miles of the Algarve. Lisbon Airport is in the north, just outside the Portuguese capital, while Seville airport is across the border in Spain.

TOP THINGS TO DO IN ALGARVE
Dance the corridinho. Swim with dolphins. Taste a goose barnacle. Climb to the top of a lighthouse. Learn to say “móce deb” with the locals. Practise your golf swing on an award-winning course. Sunbathe on a deserted beach. Do all this (and much more) on a relaxing or invigorating Algarve holiday.
“Experience: an event or occurrence which leaves an impression on someone.”
WHICH PART OF ALGARVE IS THE BEST?
Vilamoura is the best place to stay in Algarve if you’re looking for an upscale, glittery beach holiday that puts the focus on golf courses, luxury resorts and walks along the marina. Vilamoura is the crown of Algarve’s Golden Triangle due to its collection of luxury accommodations.
HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD I STAY IN ALGARVE?
At least 3 full days. For me, the perfect Algarve itinerary is 5 days. With it, you can see several points of interest, including the most famous beaches and also some historical sites.
DO YOU NEED A CAR IN ALGARVE?
it’s probably easier just to take an airport transfer from Faro Airport to your accommodation and then to book a taxi or day trip if you decide to go somewhere.
